Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
D
ValueB+
NeedB
TradesF
FutureB+
The Titans cashed the board's mistake on Wiley: D. Somebody took the Titans to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Landing Wiley that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Joe Alt
Joe Alt in slot 13 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick27
Rnd1
Keon Coleman
In No. 27 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick38
Rnd2
Kool-Aid McKinstry
Steal is underselling it; Kool-Aid McKinstry at the 38th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick42
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens at Round 2, Pick 10 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick90
Rnd3
Brandon Dorlus
Somehow Brandon Dorlus was still sitting there in the 90th pick, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick106
Rnd4
Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran is a better player than the Round 4 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jaheim Bell
Jaheim Bell in No. 144 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick179
Rnd6
Edefuan Ulofoshio
The board fumbled Edefuan Ulofoshio all the way to the 179th pick, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick184
Rnd6
Roger Rosengarten
They read the board right and Roger Rosengarten was the payoff at pick 184. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick230
Rnd7
Michael Wiley
You do not let a running back like Michael Wiley reach Round 7, Pick 10 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
