Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
A passer of the future in Williams, and a D-, for the Panthers.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Panthers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The Stover pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Landing Muhammad III that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, safety very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In pick No. 1 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick10 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In pick 10 they get a building block for the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33 Rnd2 Troy Franklin
They took Troy Franklin at par in the 33rd pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick65 Rnd3 Adisa Isaac
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Adisa Isaac. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick72 Rnd3 Caelen Carson
A clean, defensible pick in the 72nd overall pick with a little surplus value in Caelen Carson. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick75 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
By-the-book stuff, Christian Haynes at slot 75 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick101 Rnd4 McKinnley Jackson
Good price on McKinnley Jackson in Round 4, Pick 1, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick111 Rnd4 Cade Stover
They liked Cade Stover enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 111. The roster fit checks out.
Pick168 Rnd5 Moose Muhammad III
Moose Muhammad III slipping to pick No. 168 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick180 Rnd6 Ben Bywater
No drama and no debate, Ben Bywater went about where he belonged in No. 180. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick222 Rnd7 Isaiah Davis
Fair-plus on Isaiah Davis, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
