The Steelers answered their biggest question with Penix Jr.. Grade: F.

The phones were a trap the Steelers kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

The whole projection now runs through Michael Penix Jr.; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The Steelers indulged a want in Puni while a need in safety, running back and other spots stayed open. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Washington value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.
