Goku122 DRAFTING FOR THEBears

FutureA+
The Bears let Fautanu fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-. Call it larceny. Troy Fautanu sat on the board until slot 62, and the Bears did not need to be asked twice. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. It is not that Smith is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first.
The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick25
Rnd1
Jordan Morgan
In the 25th pick they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
They paid sticker price for Bralen Trice in pick No. 34, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick62
Rnd2
Troy Fautanu
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 2, Pick 30 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in No. 75 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick93
Rnd3
Maason Smith
Of all the spots to shop, they chose DT-EDGE. Maason Smith in the 93rd overall pick leaves interior defensive lineman for later.
Pick107
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
A straight-up fair deal on Khyree Jackson at slot 107, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick110
Rnd4
Tyrice Knight
By-the-book stuff, Tyrice Knight at pick 110 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick115
Rnd4
Jaden Hicks
Nice patience on Jaden Hicks, who had no business lasting to the 115th pick. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick139
Rnd5
MarShawn Lloyd
MarShawn Lloyd is a better player than pick 139 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick146
Rnd5
Dallin Holker
Dallin Holker in No. 146 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick167
Rnd5
Joe Milton III
A clean, defensible pick in Round 5, Pick 31 with a little surplus value in Joe Milton III. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick203
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford in pick No. 203 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
