Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A
ValueA- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: A.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. This is how you run a draft, and the A reflects it.

However the rest shakes out, Guyton at that price is a win they earned. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

In the end it comes back to Caleb Williams, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
They did well to land Caleb Williams in pick No. 9, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick22 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the 22nd overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
A slide stopped in the 27th pick, with Dallas Turner worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick50 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jordan Morgan reach the Round 2 slot and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
Pick54 Rnd2 Quinyon Mitchell
Quinyon Mitchell at Round 2, Pick 22 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick75 Rnd3 Tyler Guyton
Circle this one: Tyler Guyton at pick 75 is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick110 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Value with a capital V on Zak Zinter in No. 110, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
Pick122 Rnd4 Tykee Smith
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Tykee Smith in slot 122, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick150 Rnd5 Kris Abrams-Draine
The board fumbled Kris Abrams-Draine all the way to the 150th pick, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
