When a board-topper like Isaiah Neyor slides to slot 237, you do not overthink it, and the Bears did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.

The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
