Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA- FutureB
The Bills robbed the room for Legette. Final grade: B+.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Xavier Legette got past him. The Bills do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 61. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for Brade left real value on the table behind him.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at No. 37 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick61 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
Steal is underselling it; Xavier Legette at slot 61 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick99 Rnd3 Beau Brade
They went early on Beau Brade in the Round 3 slot, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick105 Rnd4 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith slid further than he should have, and the 105th pick is lovely value for the safety. The roster fit checks out.
Pick129 Rnd4 Matt Goncalves
They robbed the room for Matt Goncalves here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick162 Rnd5 Kamal Hadden
Taking Kamal Hadden in pick 162 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick166 Rnd5 Frank Gore Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Frank Gore Jr. at the 166th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick198 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
The board had JD Bertrand higher than pick No. 198, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick202 Rnd6 Ethan Driskell
Ethan Driskell in the 202nd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick207 Rnd6 Javon Baker
The board fumbled Javon Baker all the way to slot 207, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick250 Rnd7 Eric Gentry
They let Eric Gentry come to them and pounced at No. 250. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
