Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesD FutureA
The Raiders finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Fernando Mendoza is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

The White reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

Moss at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In the Round 1 slot they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick59 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman slid further than he should have, and slot 59 is lovely value for the safety. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick112 Rnd4 Blake Miller
They went early on Blake Miller in pick No. 112, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick117 Rnd4 Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch in pick 117 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick135 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
Keylan Rutledge at No. 135 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick151 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in the 151st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick176 Rnd5 Lander Barton
Nothing to complain about; Lander Barton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick181 Rnd6 Jordan White
Jordan White at Round 6, Pick 1 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick184 Rnd6 Rayshaun Benny
Rayshaun Benny at Round 6, Pick 4 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick194 Rnd6 DJ Harvey
They did well to land DJ Harvey in pick No. 194, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick215 Rnd6 Jamal Haynes
Jamal Haynes at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick219 Rnd7 Miller Moss
They barely believed it either: Miller Moss still on the board at the 219th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
