Mendoza is the Raiders' new face under center. Grade: B+.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Fernando Mendoza is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

That is an edge rusher worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Reaching for Coogan left real value on the table behind him.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. With cornerback unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
