Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Titans a B. There is a lot to like until you notice running back is still a hole. The Titans never got to the one that mattered most. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Rivers at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37
Rnd2
Chris Bell
Chris Bell at slot 37 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick68
Rnd3
Deontae Lawson
A clean, defensible pick in pick 68 with a little surplus value in Deontae Lawson. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick103
Rnd4
Chandler Rivers
Chandler Rivers at pick No. 103 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick143
Rnd5
Bray Hubbard
They did well to land Bray Hubbard in the 143rd pick, just ahead of his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick145
Rnd5
Jude Bowry
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jude Bowry in the 145th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
