Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Vikings and Lew: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Connor Lew got past him. The Vikings do not have to explain a thing at the Round 3 slot. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. If Singleton pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get a green-dot type in the middle, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Pick49 Rnd2 Keith Abney II
A reasonable price with a little left over, Keith Abney II in Round 2, Pick 17. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick82 Rnd3 Nicholas Singleton
A reach for Nicholas Singleton in No. 82; a little patience would have been rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick97 Rnd3 Connor Lew
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Connor Lew in the 97th overall pick, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick161 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
A tidy little value on Tanner Koziol in slot 161, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick194 Rnd6 Kobe Baynes
Kobe Baynes in pick 194 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick234 Rnd7 Trebor Pena
Trebor Pena at the 234th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick240 Rnd7 Noah Whittington
Noah Whittington slipping to pick No. 240 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The roster fit checks out.
