You can draft well and still miss the point. The Saints did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

On the needs board they went 1 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
