Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Eagles.

The war room fell hard for Taulia Tagovailoa, and it showed at slot 240: 36 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

However the rest shakes out, Hadden at that price is a win they earned. The Stover pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
In pick 22 they get an island corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Jonathon Brooks
They did well to land Jonathon Brooks in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick53 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
They paid sticker price for Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the 53rd overall pick, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick97 Rnd3 Cade Stover
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went TE-EDGE with Cade Stover while clear needs at interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots sat open.
Pick160 Rnd5 Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick at Round 5, Pick 24 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick170 Rnd5 Anthony Gould
Anthony Gould in the 170th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick171 Rnd5 Braiden McGregor
By-the-book stuff, Braiden McGregor at slot 171 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick178 Rnd6 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey is a better player than the Round 6 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick189 Rnd6 Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden at pick 189 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick240 Rnd7 Taulia Tagovailoa
They left a pile of value on the table to take Taulia Tagovailoa this early at the 240th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
