The Jase McClellan selection is the head-turner. The 49ers reached 36 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Jones pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman and quarterback still on the board.

On value alone, Morgan makes the weekend a net positive.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
