Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
The Seahawks checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

The Seahawks torched the value chart for Frank Gore Jr., taking him 34 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. With edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on OLB-EDGE is the choice that costs them. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick41 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at the 41st pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick58 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson in slot 58 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick81 Rnd3 Cade Stover
A reasonable price with a little left over, Cade Stover in No. 81. It fills a real need, too.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
Nothing to complain about; Jaden Hicks went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick102 Rnd4 Javon Solomon
Of all the spots to shop, they chose OLB-EDGE. Javon Solomon in Round 4, Pick 2 leaves edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots for later.
Pick118 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
They jumped the gun on Beaux Limmer, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick179 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III in the Round 6 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick192 Rnd6 Frank Gore Jr.
They talked themselves into Frank Gore Jr. at Round 6, Pick 17, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick235 Rnd7 Tyrice Knight
A real head-scratcher, Tyrice Knight in No. 235 is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
