Jayarea24 DRAFTING FOR THE49ers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall

ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Larceny in the 176th pick lands the 49ers a B, Pritchett and all. You could see the war room lean forward. Nehemiah Pritchett at Round 6, Pick 1 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. If Gore Jr. pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In the 31st pick they get a disruptor off the edge, and a steal at that.
Pick63
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier at pick No. 63 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick94
Rnd3
Ja'Lynn Polk
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 94 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick124
Rnd4
Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis at slot 124 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick131
Rnd4
Christian Jones
No edge and no loss on Christian Jones in Round 4, Pick 31; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick133
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Roger Rosengarten. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick176
Rnd6
Nehemiah Pritchett
They robbed the room for Nehemiah Pritchett here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick211
Rnd6
Myles Harden
Myles Harden in No. 211 is fair value, right on his grade. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick215
Rnd6
Frank Gore Jr.
They jumped the gun on Frank Gore Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick251
Rnd7
Michael Barrett
They read the board right and Michael Barrett was the payoff at pick No. 251. A need, and now a little less of one.
