The 49ers bet big and early on Jordan Davis, 111 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

Getting Mims where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Spending an early pick on cornerback with interior defensive lineman and quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
