Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Kyle McCord got past him. The Jets do not have to explain a thing at the Round 5 slot.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The cost of the Phillips reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Job largely done: quarterback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
