Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
Harris should have been long gone. The Jaguars pounced, and earned a B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Jaguars were there to profit. Tre Harris, the No. 44 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 3 slot. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The Gillotte pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Evan Stewart
In the 22nd overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick49 Rnd2 Patrick Payton
Good price on Patrick Payton in the 49th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick54 Rnd2 Ashton Gillotte
A want over a need in No. 54: Ashton Gillotte adds an edge rusher while interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick81 Rnd3 Tre Harris
They barely believed it either: Tre Harris still on the board at pick No. 81. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick113 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Taking Anthony Belton in the Round 4 slot is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick145 Rnd5 Caden Prieskorn
Caden Prieskorn at slot 145 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick177 Rnd6 Xavian Sorey Jr.
Xavian Sorey Jr. in pick 177 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick209 Rnd7 Jo'Quavious Marks
Fair-plus on Jo'Quavious Marks, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
