gsukjdakid DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

FutureB-
The Patriots let Stewart fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. Somebody in No. 77 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Patriots sat still while Josaiah Stewart, the No. 50 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Porter reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick38
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
A quiet steal in slot 38: Emeka Egbuka for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick69
Rnd3
Darien Porter
Darien Porter in No. 69 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick77
Rnd3
Josaiah Stewart
Josaiah Stewart at the Round 3 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick106
Rnd4
Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman in the 106th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
