gsukjdakid DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Packers. There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Packers never got to the one that mattered most. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Horton falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Will Johnson
Will Johnson in No. 23 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick54
Rnd2
Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson at the 54th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick87
Rnd3
Charles Grant
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Charles Grant. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick124
Rnd4
Tory Horton
Value with a capital V on Tory Horton in pick 124, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
