Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB
Adams should have been long gone. The Panthers pounced, and earned a B.

The Panthers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Isaiah Adams fell into pick 166.

They will need Bell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
No edge and no loss on Darius Robinson in the 37th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
A tidy little value on Adonai Mitchell in Round 2, Pick 7, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick65 Rnd3 Xavier Worthy
They paid sticker price for Xavier Worthy in No. 65, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick101 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
Steal is underselling it; Khyree Jackson at slot 101 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick140 Rnd5 Kalen King
By-the-book stuff, Kalen King at the 140th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jaheim Bell
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jaheim Bell. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick166 Rnd5 Isaiah Adams
Circle this one: Isaiah Adams at pick 166 is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick240 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
A quiet steal in pick No. 240: Frank Gore Jr. for less than the market said. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
