Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Dixon: D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The 49ers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

The Brownlee Jr. pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Dixon to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
