Jmink DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Giants: B. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Giants did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to safety, which was the need that mattered most. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
On value alone, Grant makes the weekend a net positive. On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get a lockdown presence outside. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
They read the board right and Kenneth Grant was the payoff at pick 34. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick65
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in slot 65 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick99
Rnd3
Jalen Milroe
Fair-plus on Jalen Milroe, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick105
Rnd4
Jaylin Noel
A slide stopped in the 105th pick, with Jaylin Noel worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
