Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Commanders: B-. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Commanders walked out of the weekend still thin at wide receiver, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
The Grant pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Landon Jackson
In slot 29 they get a bendy edge with upside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick61
Rnd2
Kyle Kennard
They jumped the gun on Kyle Kennard, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick79
Rnd3
Charles Grant
Charles Grant at Round 3, Pick 15 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
