The Steelers cashed the board's mistake on Brade: B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Beau Brade got past him. The Steelers do not have to explain a thing at the 195th overall pick. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. With quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on offensive lineman is the choice that costs them. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
