The steal of the weekend belongs to the Panthers and Davis: B.

The board owed the Panthers one, and it paid up: Isaiah Davis, the No. 156 name on the board, sitting there at the 226th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Holker pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.
