Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesC+ FutureB
The Packers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Packers walked out of the weekend still thin at tight end, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Every board in the league had Ugwu lower, and that gap is the story. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Ford. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

The dealing was even money, start to finish.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Keon Coleman
In slot 25 they get a true top target at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick41 Rnd2 Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens in Round 2, Pick 9 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick57 Rnd2 Kiran Amegadjie
Nothing to complain about; Kiran Amegadjie went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick88 Rnd3 Audric Estime
They went early on Audric Estime in pick 88, and the value did not follow. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick125 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick135 Rnd4 Javion Cohen
Javion Cohen at the 135th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick158 Rnd5 Joe Milton III
They took Joe Milton III at par in No. 158, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick186 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Value with a capital V on Jaylan Ford in pick No. 186, a genuine coup. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick203 Rnd6 Brian Ugwu
They jumped the gun on Brian Ugwu, taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick217 Rnd6 Jha'Quan Jackson
Good price on Jha'Quan Jackson in pick 217, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick219 Rnd6 Trevor Keegan
They paid up for Trevor Keegan at No. 219 when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
Pick246 Rnd7 Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson at pick No. 246 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
