Draft Grade — Titans
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
The Titans won the night they stopped Smith-Wade from sliding. Grade: A-.

Whoever sat across the table from the Titans should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.

They banked enough surplus on Smith-Wade to cover a lot of smaller sins. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Every board in the league had Williams lower, and that gap is the story.

The Titans clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.

Pick Analysis
Pick36 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
A straight-up fair deal on Chop Robinson at pick 36, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick38 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Xavier Legette at Round 2, Pick 6 is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick63 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Fair-plus on Edgerrin Cooper, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick106 Rnd4 Ray Davis
They paid sticker price for Ray Davis in No. 106, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick113 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams in pick No. 113 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick144 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis at slot 144 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick181 Rnd6 Michael Barrett
No drama and no debate, Michael Barrett went about where he belonged in pick No. 181. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick184 Rnd6 Chau Smith-Wade
They barely believed it either: Chau Smith-Wade still on the board at pick 184. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick228 Rnd7 Donovan Jennings
The board had cheaper options than Donovan Jennings at slot 228, and it noticed. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
