Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills let Robinson fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Darius Robinson had no business being available in pick No. 60, and the Bills did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. They will need Jordan to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
Steal is underselling it; Darius Robinson at the 60th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick99 Rnd3 DeWayne Carter
DeWayne Carter at No. 99 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick129 Rnd4 Renardo Green
They let Renardo Green come to them and pounced at slot 129. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick159 Rnd5 Jacob Cowing
A slide stopped in pick No. 159, with Jacob Cowing worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick162 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
Nice patience on Malik Mustapha, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 26. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson at pick 198 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick202 Rnd6 Tahj Washington
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tahj Washington at the 202nd overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick206 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Jaylan Ford graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick246 Rnd7 Jawhar Jordan
Jawhar Jordan in the 246th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A need, and now a little less of one.
