Schwesinger should have been long gone. The Colts pounced, and earned a B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Colts were there to profit. Carson Schwesinger, the No. 139 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 7 slot. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They are betting Gabriel proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In No. 14 they get a press-man option on the boundary. More want than need.
Pick45 Rnd2 Harold Fannin Jr.
Value with a capital V on Harold Fannin Jr. in the 45th overall pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick48 Rnd2 Dillon Gabriel
Dillon Gabriel in pick No. 48 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick116 Rnd4 Jordan James
Jordan James in slot 116 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick150 Rnd5 Smael Mondon Jr.
Taking Smael Mondon Jr. in pick 150 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick188 Rnd6 Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin at the 188th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick232 Rnd7 Carson Schwesinger
The board fumbled Carson Schwesinger all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
