FutureA
The Raiders got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the B-. The Raiders put a flag in the ground for Jackson Woodard, 112 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Williams.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In the 23rd overall pick they get a rangy last line of defense. More want than need.
Pick37
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at pick 37 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick54
Rnd2
Kaleb Johnson
Nothing to complain about; Kaleb Johnson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick68
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
A tidy bit of business in slot 68, where Jayden Higgins graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick108
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo slid further than he should have, and No. 108 is lovely value for the running back. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick143
Rnd5
Nohl Williams
Nice patience on Nohl Williams, who had no business lasting to the 143rd pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick180
Rnd6
Connor Colby
Connor Colby in pick 180 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick213
Rnd6
Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers at slot 213 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick215
Rnd6
Jackson Woodard
They talked themselves into Jackson Woodard at the 215th pick, and the board did not agree. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick222
Rnd7
Ricky White III
Fair-plus on Ricky White III, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
