Larceny in pick 158 lands the Buccaneers a B-, Pierce and all. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Buccaneers were there to profit. Hollin Pierce, the No. 116 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 5 slot.
Reaching for Sanders left real value on the table behind him. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Mike Green
In pick No. 19 they get juice off the edge, even if it was a touch early.
Pick53
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jihaad Campbell at the 53rd pick is the proof. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick84
Rnd3
Darien Porter
Darien Porter at slot 84 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick120
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Kevin Winston Jr. in the Round 4 slot, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick158
Rnd5
Hollin Pierce
Somehow Hollin Pierce was still sitting there in No. 158, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick237
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
They left a pile of value on the table to take Shilo Sanders this early at Round 7, Pick 19. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
