You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Bears did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

The Nugent pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
