Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall

NeedB-
TradesB+
FutureB+
The Buccaneers let Williams fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Savion Williams tumbling to the Buccaneers in pick 158 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The Sanders reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Will Johnson
In pick 24 they get a press-man option on the boundary, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick53
Rnd2
Jared Ivey
Jared Ivey at No. 53 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick89
Rnd3
Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman in the 89th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick120
Rnd4
Lathan Ransom
The board had Lathan Ransom higher than the Round 4 slot, and the safety fell to them anyway. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick140
Rnd5
Riley Leonard
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Riley Leonard in pick No. 140, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick158
Rnd5
Savion Williams
Savion Williams at the 158th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick237
Rnd7
Shilo Sanders
A big swing on Shilo Sanders at Round 7, Pick 19, well ahead of any board in the building. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick243
Rnd7
Craig Woodson
Somehow Craig Woodson was still sitting there in slot 243, and they pounced on premier safety value. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
