Frankie DRAFTING FOR THECardinals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall

FutureB-
Smith should have been long gone. The Cardinals pounced, and earned a B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Maason Smith tumbling to the Cardinals in slot 226 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. With quarterback, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In the 4th overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick27
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In pick No. 27 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick35
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Morgan at the 35th pick squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick66
Rnd3
Kamren Kinchens
No drama and no debate, Kamren Kinchens went about where he belonged in No. 66. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick71
Rnd3
Jaylen Wright
They took Jaylen Wright at par in pick 71, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick90
Rnd3
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
A want over a need in Round 3, Pick 27: Dadrion Taylor-Demerson adds a safety while quarterback, edge rusher and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick104
Rnd4
Bucky Irving
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bucky Irving at the Round 4 slot is the proof. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick138
Rnd5
Cam Hart
Cam Hart in slot 138 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick162
Rnd5
Mekhi Wingo
They will replay Mekhi Wingo at the 162nd pick for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick186
Rnd6
Ray Davis
They robbed the room for Ray Davis here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick226
Rnd7
Maason Smith
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Maason Smith in pick 226, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
