Daniels is the plan now, and the Commanders grade out a B-.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Ford falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Colson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Jayden Daniels in the 2nd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brian Thomas Jr. at pick 36. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick40 Rnd2 Junior Colson
The board had cheaper options than Junior Colson at slot 40, and it noticed. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick67 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kiran Amegadjie. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick78 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil at the 78th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick100 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in pick No. 100 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick139 Rnd5 Trevor Keegan
No edge and no loss on Trevor Keegan in No. 139; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

A clean, defensible pick in the Round 5 slot with a little surplus value in Luke McCaffrey. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
