Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Cardinals a B.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Cardinals did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most.

However the rest shakes out, Newton at that price is a win they earned. On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
Marvin Harrison Jr. at pick No. 4 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick27 Rnd1 Jer'Zhan Newton
In No. 27 they get a wrecking ball inside at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Kool-Aid McKinstry
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kool-Aid McKinstry in slot 35. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
