RF4916 DRAFTING FOR THERavens
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Ravens: B-. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Ravens spent pick No. 243 on R.J. Oben, a name the board had a full 142 spots lower. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They banked enough surplus on Bryant to cover a lot of smaller sins. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Malaki Starks
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a ballhawk on the back end. More want than need.
Pick59
Rnd2
Azareye'h Thomas
They took Azareye'h Thomas at par in the 59th pick, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick91
Rnd3
Charles Grant
Charles Grant in No. 91 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick129
Rnd4
Barrett Carter
Circle this one: Barrett Carter at the 129th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick136
Rnd4
Savion Williams
Steal is underselling it; Savion Williams at pick 136 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick176
Rnd5
Jacob Parrish
They robbed the room for Jacob Parrish here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick183
Rnd6
CJ West
Value said wait; CJ West in pick No. 183 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick203
Rnd6
Jalen Travis
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jalen Travis. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick210
Rnd6
Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant in Round 6, Pick 34 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick212
Rnd6
Kyle Monangai
Kyle Monangai slid further than he should have, and the 212th pick is lovely value for the running back. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick243
Rnd7
R.J. Oben
R.J. Oben at pick 243 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
