Start where it matters. The Patriots took Michael Penix Jr. to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Williams steal is the beam this whole class leans on. If Travis pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
