A solid, sensible weekend for the Chiefs: B-. The Chiefs put a flag in the ground for Xavier Worthy, 24 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The Tony Adams pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Xavier Worthy
In the 32nd overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick95
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
Nothing to complain about; Dominick Puni went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
