The Steelers went off the board in a big way for Sedrick Van Pran, 37 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They banked enough surplus on Cowing to cover a lot of smaller sins.

The Steelers indulged a want in Laumea while a need in quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots stayed open.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
