The Bears ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.

Reaching for Jefferson left real value on the table behind him. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Adding Budda Baker by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
