The steal of the weekend belongs to the Dolphins and Slaughter: B-.

The board owed the Dolphins one, and it paid up: Jake Slaughter, the No. 54 name on the board, sitting there at No. 75 like a gift left on the doorstep. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Lomu to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
