A solid, sensible weekend for the Cowboys: B. The Michael Harris pick is the one that will follow the Cowboys into the fall. They took him 26 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Jennings.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In the 12th overall pick they get a workhorse for the backfield at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick20
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
Avieon Terrell at the 20th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick112
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
They read the board right and D'Angelo Ponds was the payoff at the Round 4 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick150
Rnd5
Jaden Greathouse
The board had Jaden Greathouse higher than slot 150, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick177
Rnd5
Charles Jagusah
No drama and no debate, Charles Jagusah went about where he belonged in No. 177. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick221
Rnd7
Kevin Jennings
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kevin Jennings at Round 7, Pick 5. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick225
Rnd7
Dijon Johnson
They took Dijon Johnson at par in the 225th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick239
Rnd7
Ethan O'Connor
Ethan O'Connor at Round 7, Pick 23 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick241
Rnd7
Michael Harris
Michael Harris in No. 241 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
