Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Jaguars let Skattebo fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

When a board-topper like Cam Skattebo slides to Round 6, Pick 17, you do not overthink it, and the Jaguars did not. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In the Round 1 slot they get a potential shutdown corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
They did well to land Tate Ratledge in the 36th pick, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick70 Rnd3 Tyleik Williams
A slide stopped in pick No. 70, with Tyleik Williams worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jalen Royals
They barely believed it either: Jalen Royals still on the board at No. 88. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick105 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
They robbed the room for Malachi Moore here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick124 Rnd4 Tai Felton
The board fumbled Tai Felton all the way to the 124th overall pick, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick141 Rnd5 Barrett Carter
They will replay Barrett Carter at slot 141 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick180 Rnd6 Jaeden Roberts
Somehow Jaeden Roberts was still sitting there in pick 180, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick192 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in slot 192 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick221 Rnd7 Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin at No. 221 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
