Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesA- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Browns.

Nobody had Caleb Lomu this high, and it is not close. The Browns reached 26 spots to get him at Round 1, Pick 6. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Caleb Lomu
In pick No. 6 they get a blindside protector, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick26 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Max Klare
Max Klare in the 39th overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
Pick70 Rnd3 Ja'Kobi Lane
A straight-up fair deal on Ja'Kobi Lane at pick 70, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick91 Rnd3 Parker Brailsford
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Parker Brailsford well ahead of where he belonged. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick107 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
No drama and no debate, Bryce Lance went about where he belonged in No. 107. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick139 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
Tanner Koziol in pick No. 139 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick144 Rnd5 Drew Allar
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 6, with Drew Allar worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick204 Rnd6 Nolan Rucci
By-the-book stuff, Nolan Rucci at slot 204 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick248 Rnd7 Tosh Baker
The board had Tosh Baker higher than the 248th pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
