Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB- TradesA- FutureD-
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a C+.

The search is over. The Bears handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Powers-Johnson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

The Smith steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In slot 1 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 9th overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
A reach on Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 35th pick; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
Pick75 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
A straight-up fair deal on Christian Haynes at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick90 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
A clean, defensible pick in Round 3, Pick 27 with a little surplus value in Mike Sainristil. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick110 Rnd4 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith in pick No. 110 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jaheim Bell
Jaheim Bell at No. 122 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick146 Rnd5 Justin Rogers
Justin Rogers in pick 146 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
