With interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If Webb pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with linebacker the one that mattered most.
