The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bears and Lovett: A-. The real work happened on the phones. The Bears fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
Lovett at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Bears indulged a want in Stover while a need in interior defensive lineman and running back stayed open.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Stover has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
